NCWS Felicitates with Nigeria on 64th Independence Anniversary
This milestone bears eloquent testimony to Nigeria's
resilience, strength, and determination to build a united, prosperous, and
harmonious nation. As we celebrate this achievement, we honour the pioneers who
fought tirelessly for our independence and paved the way for future
generations.
On behalf of the NCWS, I extend heartfelt congratulations to
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Assembly, State Governors, and all
stakeholders who have contributed to Nigeria's progress.
We acknowledge the President's commitment to advancing
women's empowerment and look forward to collaborating with his administration
to address the pressing concerns of Nigerian women.
NCWS is proud to announce its collaboration with Her
Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to achieve the Renewed Hope agenda
initiative for women, which aligns with our mission to empower women and
promote gender equality. As we reflect on our nation's journey, we recognise
the significant strides made in promoting gender equality, women's education,
healthcare, and economic empowerment.
However, we also acknowledge the challenges that remain.
The NCWS reaffirms its dedication to:
1. Advocating for
policies and programs that enhance women's participation in decision-making and
leadership.
2. Promoting girls'
education and vocational training.
3. Supporting women's entrepreneurship and economic
independence.
4. Addressing violence
against women and girls.
5. Enhancing healthcare services for women and children.
As we celebrate our independence, we reiterate our commitment
to working together with government agencies, civil society organizations, and
the private sector to create a society where women and girls thrive.
To all Nigerian women and girls, we celebrate your strength,
resilience, and contributions to our nation's growth.
Your voices matter, and your participation is crucial in
shaping our collective future. Once again, happy 64th Independence Day,
Nigeria! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria! Sincerely,
Mrs. Geraldine Ita Etuk Acting National President National
Council for Women Societies (NCWS)
