Media Team Receives High Praise from NAHCON for Hajj 2025 Reporting

The Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, has expressed appreciation for the successful conduct of the 2025 Hajj and lauded the media for its positive portrayal of the commission’s efforts.

Speaking during a farewell dinner held in Makkah for the NAHCON National Media Team, Professor Usman acknowledged the improved coverage compared to previous years and encouraged continued collaboration ahead of the 2026 Hajj operations.  

Also speaking at the event, Professor Abubakar Yagawal, Commissioner for Planning, Research, Information, and Library Services, commended the media for its diligent work.

He noted that the team’s reportage significantly contributed to reshaping the commission’s public image, which had suffered in previous years.

The Commissioner for Inspectorate and Licensing at the National Hajj Commission, Prince Anofi Elegushi, commended Nigerian journalists covering the Hajj for their dedication and professionalism. 

He praised their efforts in projecting the positive image of Nigeria in Saudi Arabia and urged them to continue showcasing the country's commendable representation in the global media space.

Prince Elegushi also advocated for enhanced welfare packages for media personnel in future Hajj operations, acknowledging the vital role journalists play in informing the public and promoting transparency.

The Commissioner for Policy, Personnel, Management, and Finance at the National Hajj, Prince Aliu Abdul-Razk, has commended the efforts of the 2025 Hajj National Media Team, noting that their work has significantly contributed to the smooth coordination of Hajj operations and improved the visibility of Nigeria’s activities in Saudi Arabia.


He stated that the team’s outstanding reportage played a vital role in enhancing the overall experience for Nigerian pilgrims, adding that their professionalism has brought positive attention and credibility to NAHCON.
