The Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, says the Commission is fully prepared for the 2026 Hajj and has assured that it will be even more successful than this year’s operations. He called on intending pilgrims to register early, noting that the Saudi authorities have indicated plans to commence preparations much earlier.

Speaking to journalists in Kano following his return from the 2025 pilgrimage, Professor Saleh stressed the importance of cooperation and timely registration to ensure a smoother process.

He also expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for the successful conduct of the 2025 Hajj, describing the achievement as the result of divine grace and collective effort.

“Our success in this year’s Hajj is by the grace of Allah. It is not mine, nor is it solely NAHCON’s it is Allah who blessed this exercise and guided us all through it,”

Professor Saleh also highlighted the critical role of the Federal Government, extending gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their unwavering support throughout the Hajj period.

“I give sincerely appreciation to the Federal Government of Nigeria. starting with the President Bola Tinubu gave us full support. Vice President Shettima, under whose office we operate, monitored our progress closely always asking what is happening today, and what is planned for tomorrow. The support helped us to work as one family and one voice”

He commended Nigerian pilgrims for their cooperation and acknowledged the efforts of key stakeholders, particularly members of the Senate and House Committees on Foreign Affairs and Hajj, whose contributions he said were instrumental to the overall coordination.

“You’ve heard it all from our leaders from the Senate and House Committees. They spoke on my behalf and expressed what is in my heart. I also thank the media sincerely for helping us take our message to the public. We are happy with you and our cooperation and relationship will continue,”

Looking ahead, the NAHCON Chairman assured the public of improved preparations for the 2026 Hajj, stating that lessons learned from this year’s exercise will inform a more seamless operation.
